Japan’s local media, Japan Times and international media, Washington Post, Telegraph and of course even we also (lol) are excited about a report from Japan’s National Institute of Population and Social Security Research saying that, in a survey of Japanese people aged 18 to 34, around 42 percent of the men and 44.2 percent of the women admitted they were virgins. Oh! Oh!!

That’s beyond the fact that 70 percent of unmarried men and 60 percent of unmarried women are not in a relationship. And, it’s up from 2010 when only 36.2 percent of men and 38.7 percent of women said they had never had s*x.

This survey has been done every five years since 1987. At the time, the subjects who said that they had no partner stood at 48.6 percent and 39.5 percent for men and women respectively.

Despite all this, nearly 90 percent of the respondents said they want to get married “sometime in the future.”

“They want to tie the knot eventually. But they tend to put it off as they have gaps between their ideals and the reality,” said Futoshi Ishii, head of the NIPSSR’s population dynamics research department.

“That’s why people marry later or stay single for life, contributing to the nation’s low birthrate.”

Army Rescues 43 People From Boko Haram, 500 Cows

 

The Nigerian military has rescued 43 abducted persons and recovered 500 cows from fleeing Boko Haram terrorists in Mafa.

The military operation for the mission occurred Sunday morning after eight suspected Boko Haram terrorists abducted some cattle rearers and livestock at gunpoint at Dalakalari general area, Mafa Local Government Area.

Some well meaning people informed the military who swung into action and pursued the terrorists.

The terrorists, sensing danger, ran and abandoned the livestock just before Panamri village.

The troops were able to rescue 43 persons and 500 cows taken by the terrorists.

The victims and the recovered cows have been handed over to the local authorities

Nnamdi Kanu Seriously Sick, Should Be Examined By Foreign Doctors – Family

 

Brother to incarcerated leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Prince Kanu, has insisted that the embattled Director of Radio Biafra is critically ill in Kuje prison.

Recall that IPOB had recently raised the alarm over Kanu’s health but a splinter group, The Re-branded Indigenous People of Biafra, TRIPOB, had dismissed the report saying the embattled Director of Radio Biafra was hail and hearty.

However, Prince Kanu, in a chat with DAILY POST, on Sunday, maintained that Kanu’s health was seriously deteriorating and should be examined by foreign doctors.

According Prince Kanu, “The leader of IPOB, Kanu is my brother and is having a severe abdominal pain and ocassional tightening in the chest resulting in cough.

“My brother needs urgent medical attention and we demand that a foreign doctors be allowed to examine him because we believe more in their diagnosis after all even the President travels abroad for treatment.”

Accusing the Department of State Services, DSS, of abandoning Kanu to his faith, Prince said, “DSS is aware as the report is everywhere and nothing has been done.”

Commenting on the the crises currently rocking IPOB, Kanu said, “There is no such thing as splinter groups, its only in the media and was orchestrated by the Federal Government.

“IPOB is one and remains one. The government is trying to create confusion here and there.”

Breaking: Gunmen Abduct Nine Landlords In Lagos-Ogun Border Community

 

Armed men on Saturday kidnapped nine landlords at Isheri, Ogun State.

Isheri is just a kilometer from Lagos.

The Nation reports that the landlords were having a routine exercise beside Lekki Gardens Estate when the gang struck.

Lagos and Ogun State Governments as well as the Nigeria Police are yet to comment on the development.

The incident occured less than a week after the Police paraded pipeline vandals and kidnappers who fled Lagos following raid on their hideouts by operatives of federal government’s Joint Military Task Force.

Olamide is set to release his sixth solo studio album in December….

The Nigerian rapper who has released released a studio album every year since his debut in 2011, is working on maintaining his figures and keeping his momentum going, by dropping a studio album in 2016.

The new album will be released in December, as songs on the album have already been recorded. It will feature hit song ‘Who you epp’, along with other singles. No official title, artwork, and tracklist has been released.

This will be Olamide’s 7 album. In 2011, he launched his career with “Rapsodi”, and went further to release a string of albums every year including “YBNL” (2012), “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth” (2013), “Street OT” (2014), “2 Kings” (joint album with Phyno, 2015), and “Eyan Mayweather” (2015).
2016 has been a big year for the rapper. Under his leadership and guidance, his record label, YBNL, has released an album (“YAGI”) for rapper Lil Kesh, who have subsequently left the company, to found his personal imprint.

It is currently still promoting Adekunle Gold’s “Gold” album. He has also began work on another of his signed rappers, Chinko Ekun, who is releasing singles.
Olamide recently said he will never pay money to have an international collaboration.
Speaking with HipTV, the ‘Shakiti bobo’ rapper made it quite clear that he won’t go down the route of parting away with cash for an international collaboration.

The rapper is of the belief that if he puts in the right amount of work, together with the grace of God, his music will speak for him and take him so far, giving him the deserved international recognition.
He made reference to Fela Kuti who didn’t have to do any international collaboration to penetrate the international market.
“Fela no do any international collaboration before they recognise Fela for international market,” the rapper said.

Kanye West Officially Drops D’Banj From G.O.O.D Music

 

After much speculation about Nigerian singer, D’banj’s status in Kanye West’s G.O.O.D music label, it has finally been confirmed that the kokomaster is no longer a member.

GOOD music recently released an updated list (below) of its members on their official twitter page and D’Banj’s name was missing.

Just a day earlier, the ‘Oliver Twist’ star was still included on the list that was shared online when the label announced it has signed rappers Tyga and Migos.

After the earlier mixup, it now appears D’banj and a couple of other artists have been dropped by the label.

D’banj was signed to GOOD music in 2011 and throughout his time with the label, he failed to release an album.

He was only featured in the label’s compilation album Cruel Summer in 2012 and also made a cameo in Kanye’s Mercy.

Heartless!!! Woman Arrested For Dumping 1-Day-Old Baby On The Street

 

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested by the police for abandoning her one-day-old baby on the street. The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Mr Fatai Owoseni, confirmed the arrest on Thursday, September 15.
The suspect identified as Ifunayan Eme, who is an indigene of Enugu State, was arrested on Tuesday, September 13, during the Eid-el-Kabir holiday.

Owoseni revealed that the suspect allegedly delivered her baby girl at No. 1, Prince Bello Street, Ajagbandi in Ojo Local Development Area Council of the state.
He added that the suspect had the baby wrapped and dumped it on the street, with the police successfully tracing her after preliminary investigations.

“The baby is now in the Police Cottage Hospital located at Ikeja Police College for proper care.

“We are trying to reach A government agency that would rehabilitate the woman,’’ he said.

The suspect tells the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that hardship had forced her to abandon the child.

Eme also claimed to have been previously married with three children but had since separated from her husband before getting pregnant for another man who refused to take responsibility for the pregnancy.
The suspect added that her neighbours had alerted the police after she abandoned the baby by the gate of her compound at about 1 a.m.
“After I gave birth to the baby in the public toilet in our house, I wrapped the baby with a bag and dropped her outside our gate and went inside to sleep.
“I never thought of checking my baby again. I just wanted someone to find her and take her nothing more,’’ she said.

The suspect is currently in police custody as her baby receives the medical attention she needs

AGAIN!! EFCC Traces Fresh $5m In Patience Jonathan’s Account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has traced an additional $5m to the Skye Bank account of Dame Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

This brings to $20m the total amount so far traced to the former first lady.

As part of investigations into a money laundering case against a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa, the EFCC had traced four company accounts to him with a balance of $15m.

The EFCC subsequently charged Dudafa and the four companies with money laundering.

The four companies, whose accounts have since been frozen, are Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited, Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited, Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Globus Integrated Service Limited.

A source at the EFCC said, “While we were investigating Dudafa, we traced the four companies to him. The companies have domiciliary accounts at Skye Bank with a balance of about $15m. So, we obtained a court order and froze the accounts.

“We then traced the directors of the companies who then denied ownership of the accounts. It was later that we were informed that the accounts belonged to Patience Jonathan and that she is the sole signatory to the accounts. She was given a special card which she used in making withdrawals across the world.

“We, therefore, wondered why the accounts were not opened in her name if she had nothing to hide. In fact, we later found out that her personal account, which bears her name, has a balance of $5m. One wonders where a person, who has never held a government position, got the money from. She was not our initial target but she certainly has questions to answer.”

Jonathan’s wife has, however, sued Skye Bank for freezing her bank accounts and giving the EFCC vital information about her finances.

Patience filed a N200m fundamental rights enforcement suit against Skye Bank Plc.

One Sammie Somiari, who deposed to an affidavit on behalf of Patience, claimed that the EFCC placed a No Debit Order on the four accounts in July, in the course of probing Dudafa.

The EFCC has now filed an amended 17 counts against Dudafa and seven others, including the four companies, wherein the suspects were accused of conspiring to conceal $15,591,700, which the EFCC claimed they ought to have known formed part of proceeds of an unlawful act.

Somiari said in the affidavit filed on behalf of Patience, who is said to be away for an urgent medical treatment abroad, that it was Dudafa who helped Patience open the four bank accounts which the EFCC froze.

In her fundamental rights suit, Patience is urging the court to compel the EFCC to immediately remove the No Debit Order placed on her accounts.

She also wants the court to order Skye Bank to pay her damages in the sum of N200m for what she termed a violation of her right to own personal property under Section 44 of the Constitution.

However, the EFCC is in moves to arraign Dudafa and his alleged accomplices for money laundering before a Federal High Court in Lagos.

Further proceedings in the case has been adjourned until September 15.

End Time!! Pastor With 12 Stolen Kids Arrested By Police In Delta

 

The police in Delta State have smashed a syndicate that specializes in buying and selling of children. The syndicate, which is allegedly led by Pastor Chinedu (surname withheld), who claimed to head a Pentecostal ministry in Ogidi Anambra State, was alleged to have kept 12 children in his custody.

The 48-year-old pastor connived with others, namely.
David, Ebere, Adaeze (a 22-year-old lady) and 55-year-old Chike (all surnames withheld by us) are now being held for interrogation at the headquarters of the command in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, said that the pastor paid N400,000.00 for each child sold to him. The bubble burst when one Aisha Yahaya of Umuezei quarters, Asaba, raised the alarm that two female members of the syndicate, Nnoruka (surname withheld) and Chidinma (surname withheld) tricked her and stole her one-year-old child.

Yahaya told the police that the suspects posed as prison officials from Ogwashi-uku Prisons, adding that they allegedly brought a message from her husband.

“The complainant further disclosed that she followed them to a junction where they met one woman, Abigail (surname withheld), who gave her N3,500.00 and asked her to go and buy clothes for her daughter, Fatima Yahaya.
“In the process, the little girl was stolen by the syndicate. She, however, raised alarm that led to the arrest of 21-year-old Nnoruka and Chidinma, 20, while they were attempting to escape,” Ibrahim told journalists.

He spoke further: “Based on this, detectives immediately swung into action and arrested a member of the syndicate, 11-yesr-old Onyinye, daughter of Abigail who was found with the stolen little girl, where she was at a drinking bar in Asaba.”

The police boss explained that the 32-year-old Abigail and Ifeoma, a lady, who were arrested at Okpanam, confessed to the crime and led detectives to Ogidi, Anambra State, where 12 suspected stolen children were recovered from the pastor.

He said the suspects were undergoing investigation while two of the recovered children were handed over to their parents. The remaining 10 within the age bracket of six months to two years are being kept at St. Barnabas Orphanage, Asaba, pending identification by their families. He added that efforts were on to apprehend other members of the syndicate.

The acting police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi said that the two men were pulled out of the room unclad. Oyeyemi said the two men locked themselves up in the “sacred room” during the ritual and that “it was very likely that they died of suffocation in the room suffused with the smoke of burning incense”.

His victim then woke at around 3.30am to find someone licking her private parts and at first thought it was her boyfriend but then realised he was asleep next to her last February.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald , she then dug her nails into her boyfriend’s arm and whispered: “Someone is here.”

The paper claims her partner then jumped out of bed and shouted at vile Taouk “What the f*ck. Who are you?”

The fined then apologised, saying: “I thought this was the boarding house. The front door was open.”

He was then thrown out of the home by the boyfriend, who returned to find his partner lying on the bed sobbing.

She initially said she did not want to go to police, but after speaking to her stepfather the next day agreed to go to police where she told them what had happened.

Officers managed to get DNA off her pyjamas that linked Taouk to the crime and CCTV caught him in the couple’s street at the time of the vile crime.

He was grabbed by police ‘nervous and sweating’ on the streets and immediately arrested.

The beast appeared in court this week where he pleaded guilty to S3@.x:’ually assaulting a woman and the aggravated break and enter into her home.

In a letter read out in court, Taouk apologised for his actions and claimed he was mentally ill and ‘just following voices’.

He wrote: “I am sincerely sorry towards making the victim feel so disgusted and violated and wish none of this had ever happened.

“I am so sorry with all my heart and hope the victim is getting better with her life, no woman deserves that in her life.”

He was jailed for two years.

The president who had earlier spoken about Nigeria’s current economic challenge expressed optimism in things getting better.

Nigeria has been going through economic challenges and has officially been declared to be in recession but the president said he will continue o work to stabilise the country.

Recession in Nigeria was confirmed last month, when official data showed output in the three months to the end of June fell 2.1% the second successive quarter of negative growth.

That followed months of turmoil including a failing currency, rising double-digit inflation, and foreign exchange shortages that have hit business, especially imports and investment.

Teenagers Arrested In Lagos Over Alleged Abduction And Oil Theft (Why They Did This Will Shock You)

 

Four teenagers, Michael Loko, 19; Oluwatomi Obosi, 19; Francis Cyprian, 19; and Olatoye Semiu, 18, have been arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Lagos State Police Command for alleged involvement in oil theft and the abduction of two expatriates in the Epe and Igando areas of the state.

According to PUNCH, the expatriates were kidnapped at different times in July, and undisclosed ransoms were paid for their release.

According to a police source: “The teenagers also assisted oil thieves to carry petrol siphoned from pipelines into the trucks for sale.”

This reportedly took place in the Isawo, Ikorodu area of the state.

The leader of the gang, Loko, confessed to the kidnappings, saying that he got N280,000 from the ransom paid for the release of one of the expatriates.

“I was arrested in Epe. I was involved in the kidnapping of an expatriate. My elder brother, Amos, was the one who carried out the operation. My brother and other accomplices were later arrested.

Although I do not know the total amount of money collected as ransom from the expatriate in Epe, I was given a share of N280,000 for my role in the operation. I was into illegal oil deals and also assist pipeline vandals to carry jerrycans of petrol from water to the shore. I earn N1,000 daily,” he said.

Cyprian, another suspect said:

Michael and I went to the same secondary school. I was working as a bricklayer, but I decided to quit the job because I earned little money from it. The first day I got involved in carrying stolen petroleum, I earned N1,000.

I was arrested when I visited a woman in the Ikorodu area, who I had saved some of the proceeds of the oil theft with. I wanted to collect N80,000 from her, but I landed in police net.

Speaking to PUNCH, Semiu said: “I learnt tailoring, but after graduation, I was unable to rent a shop. I could not get money to purchase all my tools. So, I joined the gang.”

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday said there is great hope for Nigeria to prosper despite the hard times facing the citizens.

He made the remark while receiving a delegation of the Northern States Pentecostal Bishops Forum in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said no country in the world that can experience the kind of stealing that took place in Nigeria without facing the consequences.

Osinbajo, in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, said: “This country has been badly governed. We are dealing for instance with the embezzlement of funds to the tune of $15 billion in one sector alone. “

Replying those asking why the government is talking about the past, he said: “We have to, that is why we are here.”

“We have not turned attention to the oil and gas sector, where the former CBN Governor alleged that $20 billion was stolen. We must condemn and stand up against this level of corruption. It is the single most important reason for the current state of the country. We can’t ignore it.”

The vice president urged Christian and religious leaders in the country to condemn corruption “openly.”
